The Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah

Wide, open, empty spaces create a blank canvas which our minds become inspired to fill. Such is the case with the Bonneville Salt Flats, which has witnessed the creation of many films as well as television commercials and other productions.

The potassium, magnesium lithium, and sodium cloride surface found here is remnant of ancient Lake Bonneville, of which all that remains is the Great Salt Lake. The Salt Flats are home to world land speed records set at the Bonneville Raceway, located just a few miles north of this spot. - Martin van Hemert
