Oahu, Hawaii-Kahana Bay
Oahu's windward (eastern) coast gets a lot of rain. This panorama shows a portion of the Ahupuaʻa of Kahana . An ahupuaʻa is an ancient Hawaiian land division that encompasses all of the resource zones needed for subsistance. The Kahana Valley gets a tremondous amount of rain (at least by my "Utah" standards); the upper portion gets a whopping 300 inches (760 cm) per year! The lower end near the bay in this view receives about 75 inches, 50% more than Utah's wettest resort.
If you're wondering what a panorama from Hawaii is doing on a site about Utah...... well, everyone needs a vacation sometime! - Martin van Hemert
