Coyote Buttes South

In Northern Arizona the Vermillion Cliffs wilderness area boasts some world famous geological features. The most well know of these is "The Wave". It is quite difficult to get a hiking permit to The Wave, but acquiring a permit for Coyote Buttes South is a much easier matter.

This view is of an area near the Cottonwood Cove access point. Be aware that getting here requires a 4x4 off-road vehicle due to the deep sand. The sand also makes hiking a bit of a chore, but the views are worth the effort. More information at this BLM website. - Martin van Hemert
